How to trim a video

  1. Choose a video and watch it in the preview.
  2. Type the start and end times, such as 1:05.250, or copy them from the player.
  3. Pick Precise to cut on exactly those frames, or Fast, lossless to cut instantly without re-encoding.
  4. Press Trim and download. The file name includes the range, such as clip_[00.01.05-00.01.32].mp4.

Precise or fast: which one to use

Precise re-encodes only the part you keep, so the clip starts and ends on exactly the frames you chose. Use it for clips you'll share or edit.

Fast, lossless copies the original video data untouched, so it takes a moment even for long files and the quality is identical. Video can only be cut cleanly at keyframes, so the copy starts at the keyframe before your start and the file tells players to begin on your frame. Most players do; a few apps show up to a couple of seconds of extra lead-in.

Your video never leaves your device

Most online video tools upload your file to their servers, process it there and keep it for hours. This tool runs entirely in your browser: the video is read, processed and saved on your device, and nothing is uploaded. There are no ads, no watermark and no sign-up.

Phones write the GPS location and the camera model into every video. Those details are removed by default; untick "Remove location and device info" to keep them.
