Video Compressor
Compress a video to fit email or Discord, or to a size you choose, right in your browser. No upload, no watermark and no sign-up. Location data is removed by default.
On your device. Your video stays on your device. It is never uploaded.
How to compress a video
- Choose a video: MP4, MOV, WebM, MKV, AVI and more, up to 4 GB.
- Pick a target: Email, Discord or a custom size in MB. Or switch to Quality and choose High, Balanced or Small.
- Press Compress. Hardware encoding in Chrome, Edge and Safari usually takes seconds for a short clip.
- Check the new size and preview, then download the MP4.
Hitting a size instead of guessing
Choose a size and the compressor works out the bitrate from the video's length. If the first result is still too big, it tries again with a lower bitrate, and it lowers the resolution only when the picture would otherwise fall apart.
Email attachments grow by about a third when they're sent, so the Email preset aims for 18 MB to fit a 25 MB limit. Discord's free upload limit is 20 MB.
If a size is impossible for the video's length, you're told before anything is encoded, along with the smallest size that will work.
Your video never leaves your device
Most online video tools upload your file to their servers, process it there and keep it for hours. This tool runs entirely in your browser: the video is read, processed and saved on your device, and nothing is uploaded. There are no ads, no watermark and no sign-up.
Phones write the GPS location and the camera model into every video. Those details are removed by default; untick "Remove location and device info" to keep them.
