Video to GIF
Turn a video clip into an animated GIF in your browser. Choose the width and frame rate. No upload, no watermark and no sign-up.
On your device. Your video stays on your device. It is never uploaded.
How to make a GIF from a video
- Choose a short video. GIFs keep up to the first 60 seconds, so trim longer videos first.
- Pick the width (480 px by default) and the frame rate (15 fps by default).
- Press Convert, check the animation and download the GIF.
Keeping GIFs small and sharp
GIF stores every frame as a picture with at most 256 colours, so files grow quickly. 480 px at 15 fps is a good balance for chats and documents; choose 320 px or 10 fps for smaller files, or 640 to 720 px for detail.
Each GIF gets its own colour palette built from the video, which keeps skin tones and gradients smoother than a generic palette.
Your video never leaves your device
Most online video tools upload your file to their servers, process it there and keep it for hours. This tool runs entirely in your browser: the video is read, processed and saved on your device, and nothing is uploaded. There are no ads, no watermark and no sign-up.
Phones write the GPS location and the camera model into every video. Those details are removed by default; untick "Remove location and device info" to keep them.
